The Wonder Project :: Following the Threads

I had the happy opportunity to be a guest on Pam Barnhill’s Homeschool Snapshots Podcast.  We recorded in the heat of the Summer, but strangely enough the podcast sounds like a primer on my own Wonder Project.

We talked about life in the Peace Corps–Wonder Project extraordinaire!  And about the lasting influence of living in Suriname, even now that my life is more domestic.  Living in the jungle opened up my world and enlarged my sense of the possible.  It’s a truism among people who live abroad–we are changed as much as we bring change. And that certainly was my experience.

I also talked about my favorite homeschooling blogs (Ann Voskamp’s and Mystie Winckler’s), the best homeschooling books (Educating the Wholehearted Child by Sally Clarkson, Teenage Liberation Handbook by Grace Llewellyn, and Never Too Late by John Holt), and the best place to find saint day celebration ideas (Waltzing Matilda and Paper Dali).  All good things for creating your own Wonder Project!

Go take a listen, then tell me what has made all the difference in your life?
