Celebrating St Nicolas Day

St Nicholas in red robesThis year St Nicolas Day falls on a Sunday.  Sort of disappointing for me.  Sunday has it’s own rhythms and routines; I like to mark our regular days with saint day celebrations.

St Nicolas is a practical saint.  Think office supplies and lip balm.  At our house the saint takes the carrots we leave in our shoes for his donkey and in exchange leaves new toothbrushes!  There will also be new (matching!) jammies because I found them on sale in the Summer.  We’ll see how good my size guesses were!

And of course here are links to our favorite holy cards at The St Nicholas Center.
