Peace Like a River
Praise sunny days in January, and the letter carrier bringing happy mail.
January 22nd is the sign up deadline for Poetry Peace Postcards! Each day during February, poets around the world will be writing and mailing peace poems to each other. I can’t think of a better way to spend the shortest month.
To sign up, just send your name and mailing address to [email protected]. Carla will send you the list of poets you will send cards to. It’s a beautiful and inspiring tradition in these parts!
Join us! And then head over to Tabitha’s at The Opposite of Indifference for the Poetry Friday round up. Tabitha is sharing a short story puzzle that her son wrote–my son is already working on solving it. Karen shared a poem from Jane Hirshfield, and Irene shares an original poem about owls!
Hi Kortney! My son has a clue, which is “What does the title mean?” Share it with your son if he wants a hint 🙂
I made a printable zine of peace poems after doing Peace Poetry Postcards one year: https://tabathayeatts.blogspot.com/2019/05/national-poetry-month-printables-2019.html Maybe you would want to make one of yours sometime..zines are so satisfying.
Thank you so much, Tabitha! My son is not ready to use the hint, but happy to have it. And zines are always a good idea!
