Building Accountability
What about accountability? How does your personality influence your motivation? Gretchen Rubin tackles this question in her book The Four Tendencies. This book is about how people are motivated. Are you more motivated by internal drive or by external expectations?

This quiz is helpful in figuring out your tendency and building accountability into your homeschool that supports your tendency.

If you are an Obliger, you might build accountability by texting a friend each afternoon to check in on your homeschool day. Having an appointment with another person can be enough to make sure school gets done. Co-ops and other ways to include others help Obligers shine.
If you are an Upholder, you might make a checklist on your Weekly Docket and give yourself a star at the end of the day. Using a few events as anchors in your day can help Upholders get to everything on their list.
If you are a Questioner, it might help to remember why you are homeschooling. Seeing the motivations for doing the work can help get over the day to day inertia. Use your love of data to track the most important pieces of your day.
If you are a Rebel, then you are made to homeschool! You might not even need accountability because you know you are being true to your ideals and pouring yourself out for your kids.
