I Heard a Bird Sing

14 December 2008 by Kortney

a poem by by Oliver Hereford

I heard a bird sing
In the dark of December
A magical thing
And sweet to remember

“We are nearer to spring
Than we were in September,”
I heard a bird sing
In the dark of December.

the snow has fallen all morning. we’ve had scrub jays and house wrens visiting the seed we left for them on our covered porch. and you? soup’s on over here if you’re free.
