works for me wednesday

16 November 2011 by Kortney

this morning we had friends over for tea and cake…i made my favorite banana bread from the More with Less Cookbook.  only we were down to one banana.

so i supplemented with some blueberries picked this summer on the Island.  wonderful!

except i forgot to add any sugar.

but i did remember that i forgot, so i poked holes in the piping hot bread and poured a thin mixture of orange juice and powdered sugar all over the top.  ah, wonderful!

so the moral of this story?  work with what you have in your hand.

Kort, I want you to know that I have been enjoying your posts so much these last few weeks.

This post is a good lesson. It’s easy to forget that what we have *is* enough.

Susan–it’s a lesson that i learn and forget each day it seems…

mama–that high praise makes me so happy and so proud!

Lori–maybe we’ll always call our banana bread serendipitous bread now 🙂
