nestlings at Haystack Rock

we spent this past week at the coast with Andy’s family celebrating his parents’ 50th anniversary.  on our second day there was a minus tide, so we headed to the tide pools surrounding Haystack Rock.  we got to see these sweeties–baby cormorants getting fed by their mama.

the picture isn’t the clearest, but we could see them quite well with the binoculars.  these birds were very high up, nestled in a tiny crevice.  just for a bit of perspective this is a picture of the rock itself.

our own baby bird had to have a snack before we walked back to our car!
