poetry friday: snow

14 January 2011 by Kortney

People should like poetry the way a child likes snow, and they would if poets wrote it. –Wallace Stevens

no poem this week, but simply a line that seems just right.  my sister in law quoted this line to me on Tuesday night as the snow fell…she found it in Lit by Mary Karr.

Lovely! We’ve got two feet of snow on the ground now! A big nor’easter came through on Wednesday.

Sarah, the snow was from our Thanksgiving trip to Mount Vernon, WA…but it sounds like Susan’s got some snow at her place too!

Yes–I love poems that are pure delight–accessible and magical at the same time, like snow. Thanks, Kort!
