Wednesday (with Words)
Ever since we started doing Morning Time again, we’ve been singing a hymn from the Traditional Hymns Youtube channel. Think booming organ accompaniment with pretty pictures in the background. It sounds like church. Our final hymn of this year is Praise to the Lord, the Almighty the King of Creation. It’s the third verse that’s really been singing to me:
Praise to the Lord
Who doth nourish thy life and restore thee,
Fitting thee well for the tasks that are ever before thee,
Then to thy need he like a mother doth speed
Spreading the wings of grace o’er thee.
It’s the nourishment and restoration that comes from God that makes us fit for the “tasks that are ever before thee.” And then God sees my need and gathers me under the wings of grace.
This is the truth that we open our day with.
I’m opening my day with your note. That IS a great hymn and haven’t sung it in years. I think I’m off to youtube now to listen 🙂
Missy
This cheers me to no end, Missy! Love to all of yours.
Beautiful! And I didn’t know abou that YouTube channel!
It’s been a good, free way to add the beauty of accompaniment to our hymn study, Anna!
