gems from the children’s library

we stumbled upon the most delightful series of books.  they were right next to the book i was actually looking for.  and you know what?  they were so much better than what i originally wanted!

Sarah Garland has an entire series of very British books about a (tired) mama and her two little ones.  they do all the predictable things, all the things that we do ourselves.  they muck about the garden and buy groceries and have the neighbors over for tea.  the remarkable thing is that all of their care and love for each other is so evident in each book’s relatively short text.
